Coach Will Compton
Mini Bio:
I’m 32 years old. I am married and have 2 wonderful children ages 7 and 3. I am completing my 9th year of teaching and coaching. I went to school at Angelo State University. I was on the football team for 3 years. I started out as a JH coach at Altair Rice Consolidated after 2 years I took a position at Refugio a small 2A in South Texas where I was named Offensive Coordinator. I took Refugio from a traditional Wing-T team into a spread based team we went 3 rounds in the playoffs. My Head Coach at the time Chris Jones then took a position at 4A powerhouse La Marque. It was at this time that we switched to the Air Raid Offense. At the end of the season Coach Jones decided to move back to West Texas. So I took the Assistant Athletic Director and Offensive Coordinator job at Mabank. A small 4A in East Texas. Here we averaged 428 Yards per game and produced an All- State QB in Kolton Browning now at ULM. After 2 years at Mabank I received a call from Dereck Rush who asked me to come to John Tyler. We have made it to the Quarter-Finals and Semi-Finals the past 2 years. We have broken almost every Offensive record that John Tyler had. Some include most point in a season (645), Most Passing yards ( 3782) Most YPG ( 487). Our QB also had one of the highest completion rates in the state. He was 283-393 with 34 TD and 5 INT.
